About Strappity-Do-Da: We believe in self-empowerment.
Strappity Do-Da®
A 2006 Associated Press story about Strappity-Do-Da®, calling it a business with a "purpose beyond profit", caused an explosion of orders from around the world, signaling an approval response to Strappity-Do-Da's® mission of empowerment through Fair Trade practices, one which continues to resonate, as the global economy teeters in peril. Now, in addition to the work Strappity-Do-Da® gives the Colombian artisans, it has created American jobs to generate, promote and support growth initiatives for the company.
Strappity-Do-Da's® handmade product touches many lives with inherent riches - jobs, financial opportunity, self-esteem, hope. Its business is low-tech and high touch, relying more on the tangibles of people power rather than the abstracts of software or the tooling of machinery. It creates and secures jobs for Colombian artisans who make the straps; Czech factory workers who make the glass beads; Colombian factory workers who make the metal hooks and nylon threads; American administrative, design, sales & marketing corporate staff; and every other person who "touches" our product, including air couriers, postal workers, truckers, printers, box & paper manufacturers, telecommunications staff & technicians, automotive workers & mechanics, energy employees, ..
Just as the raw materials of beads, thread and hooks are woven into beautiful patterns at once delicate but durable, Strappity-Do-Da® combines the lives and livelihoods of men and women around the world, represented in a patented strap that quite literally makes one proud to show their support.
